The NSW Government Licensing Service (GLS) is used to manage licensing across several NSW Government portfolios, covering a wide array of regulatory regimes. These services are provided across a diverse set of industries and community groups. They can be classified roughly as follows:

Note: The licence numbers in the sections below indicate approximate volume of licence records held in the Government Licensing System. This comprises licences in all statuses (e.g. Current, Expired, Suspended, Cancelled, etc.) as of May 2011.

  • 37,600+ Disability Support Consumer Eligibility, for EnableNSW
  • 2,300+ Disability Appliances - Prescriber Registrations, for EnableNSW
  • 48,900+ Disability Support Equipment and Consumables Requests, for EnableNSW
  • 6,200+ Children's Guardian VOOHC Registration, Entry / Exit Placements and Notifications, for The Children's Guardian
  • 9,100+ Charitable Fundraising Licences, for NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing

Events, Projects, Permits, Assets & Other Licences

Every year, GLS is used to issue a large number of one-off Event and Project Permits.

In addition, GLS is used to manage

  • 61,200+ Electoral Enrolments, for NSW Electoral Commission

  • 1,230+ Miscellaneous Wildlife Licences, for Office of Environment and Heritage
